About Me

• Who am I?

  I'm Brandice. :) I'm a 27 year old, social worker (MSW/LSW), writer, online media professional, video blogger, podcaster, girl gamer, internet addict, musician, avid reader, and wife. Those are most of the labels you could give me, but upon meeting me, there's a lot more that doesn't fit into the labels. I'm fun, I'm honest to a fault, I'm geeky and weird, I'm passionate about a million things, and I'm smart enough to know that I'm not for everyone. ;)

• What do I "do?"

  Professionally and/or pseudo-professionally, I do the following things: I work for Viddler, I co-host STeaP, I'm helping with planning for Podcamp Ohio, I write about tea at Slashfood, and I do regional organization and planning as a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month (as well as being the Video Liaison for the event).

• Where am I?

  I'm in Canton, Ohio, with a kitty and a brand new husband (as of June 7th). If I'm not at home, you're likely to find out where I'm at by checking my Brightkite profile.

• What am I passionate about?

  This is an area that doesn't change too often, because I'm only really passionate about the things that have always been important to me and are always likely to be pretty darn important to me. Here are some of the things that mean a lot to me:

  • I'm strongly pro-choice. Attempts to sway me on this issue are likely to result in my eating you alive... this is my number one political issue and I don't back down on it.
  • Social welfare, and the concept that society has an obligation to help its people. I'm a social worker, so this shouldn't be surprising.
  • Creativity. I have a lot of outlets, because if there's anything I can't get enough of, it's anything created by someone with an imagination, and I exercise my imagination as often as possible.
  • I love the internet and new media. I love connecting with people, I love gaming, I being constantly connected to information and the entire world in a way that is bigger and better every day. I am a willing and enthusiastic addict of all things digital.
  • My cat. I am of the firm opinion that I have the best cat, the smartest cat, and the most magical of all cats in the entire universe. We have our own language. My cat is all of three pounds as an adult, and she will eat you for breakfast with her disdain if she has to. There is no cat better.
